Chemring Technology Solutions is to launch its upgraded Resolve electronic warfare (EW) system at Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) this year in the UK.

Using wideband sensor collection capability and intelligence development tools, the upgraded EW system will deliver automatic target geo-location in mounted operations.

By extending the mounted capability of Resolve, the company said it created the world's first calibration-free, multi-platform EW system.

Chemring Technology Solutions Strategic Business Development Manager Roger Hopper said: "Our original development of Resolve was a real step-change, as no other EW system provided such a high level of direction-finding capability for mounted and dismounted missions.

According to Chemring, automatic target geolocation on the move is delivered from a single system / single vehicle.

The map-based presentation of signals is claimed to deliver immediate operator recognition of signal sources.

In addition, the ability to detect, interpret and locate targets quickly makes the upgraded Resolve EW system suitable for contemporary high-tempo operations.

The Resolve’s new information exploitation and analysis capability delivers improved intelligence development for immediate mission support, Chemring stated.

The EW system is also capable of quickly analysing the large volumes of data derived from its wideband sensor.

Chemring said Resolve enables rapid deployment preparation, rapid role change, simultaneous support for tactical operations and remote reporting via IP network radios and beyond line-of-sight links.

The DSEI defence and security event will be held between 12 and 15 September.
