Raytheon has signed a comprehensive teaming agreement with CSC to compete for the US Army’s Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Programme (ATMP).
The accord combines Raytheon’s proven expertise in high-consequence training programme management, systems integration and enterprise logistics with CSC’s range and virtual training systems operations, maintenance and management expertise.
Raytheon global training solutions business vice-president Bob Williams said: "There simply is no better team than Raytheon and CSC to support the US Army as they train to meet the uncertain threats of the future.
"We’ve proven on Warfighter FOCUS, and we will again on ATMP, that we bring not only the best experience, expertise and resources, but also the right dedication and focus on ensuring that the warfighter receives the best possible training solution."
CSC North American public sector executive vice-president and general manager Larry Prior said: "CSC intends to further the team’s current successes in supporting the US Army’s training requirements.
"Our record of achieving 98% operational readiness over the past seven years on the programme reflects our deep commitment to the customer, mission and team."
CSC is a partner in the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA), a Raytheon-led team comprising more than 150 companies that offers training support to the army on the Warfighter field operations customer support (FOCUS) contract.
In addition, the WTA helps train army soldiers, allied and coalition partners worldwide.
The programme has helped Raytheon and the WTA to generate more than $300m in savings for the army since 2008 in maintaining more than 250,000 training aids, devices and simulators.
In particular, the savings were enabled by the alliance’s responsive logistics, onsite repair and maintenance support depot, called the Warfighter support centre.
Apart from this, the company’s proprietary management information system, the automated toolset for lifecycle activities and services management information system, helps lower programme risk, and provides enhanced transparency and customer insight into data down to the work order level.
