Paramount Group has received a contract from the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to supply Mbombe infantry combat vehicles to the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Awarded at the ongoing International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the agreement included 50 Mbombe 6×6 vehicles.

It follows an extensive programme of vehicle trials comprising 50°C desert testing in Jordan and the UAE, and -50°C winter trials in Kazakhstan, where the vehicle successfully covered more than 10,000km.
KADDB chief executive officer major general Omar Al Kaldi said: “The Mbombe is a world-class product that is optimally suited for the requirements of defence forces in the region.
“The Mbombe will become the platform for the future 6×6 requirements of the Jordanian Armed Forces.”

Powered by a 336kW 1600Nm Turbo Diesel engine, the Mbombe is a 6×6, high-mobility armoured infantry vehicle designed to provide all-round protection against rocket-propelled grenade attacks, improvised explosive devices and anti-tank mines.
Capable of deploying in both conventional and non-conventional war and counter-insurgency operations, it provides ballistic protection against 14.5mm heavy machine gun rounds and similar levels of protection against 155mm artillery bursts.
The vehicle, which is fully qualified to STANAG specifications, can be configured as an armoured personnel carrier or combat vehicle, as well as command vehicle or ambulance.
Manufacturing work under the contract will start immediately in Jordan and South Africa, but the delivery schedule is undisclosed.
