Jenoptik wins spare components supply contracts from US Government

German company Jenoptik has secured contracts from the US Government to supply spare components for the Patriot integrated air and missile defence system.

German company Jenoptik has secured contracts from the US Government to supply spare components for the Patriot integrated air and missile defence system.

Valued at more than $35m, the contracts include the delivery of spare parts for electric generators, which provide energy to the defence system, as well as engine kits, reset kits and recapitalisation kits for the systems.

By keeping the power generating equipment in operational condition, the kits will support the US Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) maintenance programme.

Jenoptik said it will develop and produce components at its sites in Texas, US, and Bavaria, Germany.

The contracts will contribute to the earnings of the company’s defence and civil systems segment from 2016 to 2021.

Raytheon’s Global Patriot Solutions provides protection against advanced threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Patriot, which is preferred by 13 countries as the foundation for their defence, is continually upgraded and improved to leverage the latest technology.

Jenoptik develops, produces and distributes mechatronic and sensor systems for civil and military applications.
