CACI International has received two task order contracts to provide software support and engineering services to the US Army's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC).

CACI International has received two task order contracts to provide software support and engineering services to the US Army's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC).

Awarded under the CECOM SEC's software and systems engineering services next generation (SSES NexGen) programme, the task orders have one base performance year and one option year with a combined value of $86m.

Valued at a $63m, the first SSES award requires the company to support the control and communications-tactical (C3T) fires division in sustaining the reliability and interoperability of fielded fire support systems, which help soldiers acquire targets and deliver the necessary firepower.

"This work gives us the opportunity to rapidly deliver next-generation software that fills a critical need."

The second $23m command and control software support services (C2S3) contract will see the company continue support for the C3T mission command division in developing and sustaining systems that offer soldiers and commanders accurate overviews of the battlefield.

CACI president and chief executive officer Ken Asbury said: "These two awards on the SSES NexGen vehicle continue CACI's record of success supporting the US Army's Software Engineering Center.

"In addition to enhancing our business in our C4ISR and logistics and material readiness market areas, this work gives us the opportunity to rapidly deliver next-generation software that fills a critical need, providing our troops with an operational advantage."

CACI chief operating officer and US Operations president John Mengucci said: "CACI offers proven subject matter expertise, project management skills, and recognised CMMI credentials to provide the high-value software development, sustainment, and acquisition solutions our Armed Forces need to ensure system readiness, information dominance, and ultimately, the safety of our troops on the battlefield."

Headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, US, the CECOM SEC provides the software expertise needed to support the army command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) and logistics systems.
