Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 40,877,000 with over 1,125,000 deaths and 27,912,000 recoveries.

Although the North and Latin America remains the most heavily affected continent worldwide, cases are also rising all over the Europe with countries reporting record rise in daily new cases.

Spain and France are expected to reach one million total confirmed cases this week. Countries in Europe have started a local and regional lockdown to control the surge of daily new cases.

India is still reporting high number of daily new cases, but the cases have started to decline steadily from its peak.

New Zealand has reported first locally transmitted cases in a month.

It is one of the very few countries which had been successful in controlling the spread of infection in the community and its response to these new cases will be closely observed.
