Senop Oy, a part of Patria Group, has secured an order to develop and manufacture night vision sensors for the Finnish CV9030 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).
The latest order is part of the CV9030 mid-life extension programme.

Modernisation of the CV9030 fleet will take place in the next few years as announced by the Finnish Defence Ministry this summer.
According to Senop, deliveries are expected to be carried out for many years.
Under the contract, the company will oversee the reserve sight and barrel camera development.
Senop managing director Aki Korhonen said: “With the order, Senop’s product portfolio will grow with two new products, which will also open up completely new business opportunities in the future.

Korhonen also noted that the effort will be performed in collaboration with the end-users of CV9030 FIN.
CV90 represents a family of armoured combat vehicles developed by BAE Systems Land Systems Hägglunds of Örnsköldsvik and Saab Bofors Dynamics of Karlskoga, Sweden.
Versions of the CV90 IFV include the CV9040 with 40mm gun and the export variant, the CV9030 with 30mm gun.
In October last year, the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) was set to procure night vision devices from Senop to enhance its fighting capabilities in low light conditions.
Senop focuses on delivering advanced optronic solutions for the defence and industrial markets and has operations in four Finnish locations.
