Navistar Defence Canada has joined the partnership between Rheinmetall Canada and Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) for Canada’s Logistics Vehicle Modernization (LVM) project.
The LVM project is an initiative aimed at acquiring light and heavy logistics vehicle capabilities for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The new fleet of vehicles, trailers, vehicle modules, and armour protection kits will provide increased protection to CAF and support national and global missions.
The strategic partnership between Rheinmetall, RMMV, and Navistar is known as ‘Team 45⁰ North (45⁰N)’.
It brings together expertise of two military vehicle manufacturers and an integrator to provide a low-risk solution for Canada’s LVM project.
System integrator Rheinmetall Canada has been providing in-service support to large Canadian vehicle projects while RMMV has built and serviced military vehicles worldwide for more than a century.

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, Navistar Defence Canada has so far delivered 1,300 militarised commercial-off-the-shelf (MilCOTS) vehicles to the Canadian Department of National Defence.
Rheinmetall said the solution will meet the Canadian Army’s logistics mission profile needs.
It will be designed to meet military requirements such as durability, protection, mobility, all-terrain capability and payload capacity.
Rheinmetall in a statement said: “Team 45⁰N is committed to supporting the Canadian Armed Forces before, during, and after deliveries while creating pan-Canadian economic growth.
“The partnership draws on a coast-to-coast network of suppliers and will help bolster an in-country workforce and supply chain.”
In February this year, Rheinmetall Canada secured a sustainment contract to continue providing maintenance services for the Persistent Surveillance System (PSS) units used by the Canadian Armed Forces.
