The Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE) joint venture has delivered the latest new batch of Arlan armoured vehicles to the country’s special forces.

Arlans are the localised version of the Marauder mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicles.
The multi-use vehicles will be used by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defence, Special Forces, and other law enforcement agencies.
Extensive testing in extreme conditions and environments across Kazakhstan was carried out on the armoured vehicle. A design phase to fully prepare the vehicles for winter conditions was performed at Paramount Group’s Innovation Centre.
Heated crew cabins and ballistic windows were added in preparation for winter conditions. All-season engine oils and fuels were supplied to run the vehicles.

These vehicles also feature night-vision equipment, infrared cameras, laptop stations and GPS.
Paramount said it has already started production on the next large order of the Arlans, with expected delivery in 2018.
KPE’s 15,000m2 armoured vehicle factory in Astana is claimed to be the largest armoured vehicle factory in Central Asia.
