The US Army has awarded a new contract, valued at $128m, to Northrop Grumman to continue delivering support for the service’s Mission Command Training Center (MCTC).

The contract has been awarded under the Mission Training Complex Contractor Support (MTCCS – III Corps) programme.

The MTCCS – III Corps programme provides the service with mission command training for a wide range of unified land operations in a contemporary operating environment.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will be able to continue providing live, virtual, constructive simulation-driven exercises, gaming-based training, mission staff training and technical support to the army.

Northrop Grumman Advanced Defence Systems Division vice-president and general manager Cathie Gridley said: “We value the partnership we’ve built with the army through MCTC over the years, and are excited to continue supporting them with innovative and transformative live, virtual and constructive solutions that help prepare our warfighters with immersive training.”

The MTCCS programme has been designed to provide individual, leader, small unit, battle staff, and simulation-driven mission command training, technical, exercise, simulation, and administrative support in a number of locations in support of multiple customers.

Located at Fort Hood, Texas, the MCTC has four spoke sites at Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Riley, Kansas and Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Northrop Grumman is committed to deliver mission command training to more than 70,000 service members across the four spoke MCTC locations every year.

The company has provided support to the US Army training centre at Fort Hood and the other four sites since 2001.
