The US Army has placed an order for Getac S410 semi-rugged notebooks to access and update medical tracking system for deployed service members.

The order requires Getac to deliver 3,750 S410 semi-rugged notebooks to the Army Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care (MC4) product management team.

Getac president Scott Shainman said: “MC4’s responsibility for creating, maintaining, and updating service members’ medical records throughout their military careers and beyond is a true representation of the phrase ‘mission-critical’.

“The S410 semi-rugged notebook was customised and configured to meet all their specific needs.”

The notebook computers will be used to digitally capture medical treatment data in operational environments, enhance continuity of care, and enable a comprehensive lifelong electronic health record for service members.

Powered by sixth-generation Intel Core processor technology, the S410 is capable of handling complex tasks quickly, Getac said in a statement.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX Discrete GPU makes the semi-rugged notebook suitable for specialised operations, such as 3D graphics rendering, architectural drawings and CAD applications.
