The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency is planning to purchase a new mobile ground-based air defence system from Kongsberg.

An acquisition process will be initiated to define the final configuration and system solution before the delivery contract is signed,  Kongsberg stated.

The army ground-based air defence solution will be integrated with the Norwegian advanced surface-to-air missile system (NASAMS).

Using the air defence system, the Norwegian military will be able to combat modern airborne threats, as well as integrate networks with other sensors and weapons.

Kongsberg Defence Systems president Eirik Lie said: “NASAMS is a very important product for Kongsberg and one of the most successful internationally. We are very pleased to be have been chosen as supplier for the Army Mobile Ground Based Air Defence.
