ATK has received delivery orders from the US Army to provide non-standard (non-Nato) ammunition for the Afghan Security Forces.

The $10m order is part of an existing three-year contract with the US Army Contracting Command in Rock Island, Illinois, originally awarded in 2009.

Under the contract, the company provides supply chain management, quality assurance and logistics support in the delivery of non-standard small, medium and large-calibre ammunition.

ATK Small Caliber Systems vice president and general manager Mark Hissong said the company has delivered more than 300m non-standard items under the existing multi-year contract.

Non-standard items are munitions and explosives that have not completed safety type classification and are not managed by the Joint Munitions Command or the Army Missile Command.
