Animetrics has partnered with Raptor Identification Systems to integrate its advanced 3D facial recognition technologies into Raptor’s Android 4.0-based mobile devices to allow precise suspect identification during security operations.

The alliance will provide military personnel, law enforcement and intelligence officials with first time accessibility to Animetrics’s accurate facial recognition solutions as a localised application on Raptor ID’s mobile platforms.

Animetrics’s FaceR ‘Lights Out Face’ and ‘Investigative Face’ biometric applications will also be made available to personnel on Android devices without requiring connection to cloud-based FaceR identity management system (FIMS Cloud) for rapid local watchlist processing.

"This partnership puts Animetrics’s advanced facial recognition in the hands of the warfighter and intelligence agents out in the field, representing a crucial next step in mobilising our technology for the battlefield environments of today and tomorrow."

Animetrics president and CEO Paul Schuepp said: "This partnership puts Animetrics’s advanced facial recognition in the hands of the warfighter and intelligence agents out in the field, representing a crucial next step in mobilising our technology for the battlefield environments of today and tomorrow."

Raptor ID chairman and CEO Charles Strasburger said the company was honoured with selection of its mobile devices as an endpoint for Animetrics’s facial identity management application and enrollment interface.

According to Animetrics, the open architecture design of Raptor ID’s products will facilitate a simple, straightforward installation of its facial identity management software to help lessen dependence of personnel on the technology at home bases.

The FaceR Mobile ID is an easy-to-install application used by military, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement personnel during multiple facial comparisons and identification operations in 3G/4G and Wi-Fi environments.

Using onboard resources of smartphones, digital cameras and other handheld platforms, the Mobile ID helps officials photograph subjects, check watch lists, and collect and store metadata for future use.
