Rosoboronexport deputy general director Alexander Mikheyev said the US companies equipping Afghanistan’s military were interested in purchasing Russian military helicopters, according to RIA Novosti.
This year in May, the US lifted sanctions against Rosoboronexport, which was imposed in 2006 over alleged violations of the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
The US purchased an undisclosed number of Mi-17s for Afghanistan and Iraq during the ban through intermediary entities of the Russian arms company.
