The US Army has awarded a contract to Capgemini Government Solutions to provide independent verification and validation (IV&V) support services for the army’s Program Executive Office enterprise information systems (PEO EIS).

Under the $88m contract, the company will establish an IV&V function at the army’s enterprise level to improve enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations.

It is hoped the IV&V services will reduce the total cost associated with the US Army’s ERP programmes and provide an enterprise view across the defence force.

In addition, Capgemini will also develop, operate and maintain an automated central risk repository for the PEO EIS designed to track and monitor information related to the validation services performed.

Work under the five-year contract will be carried out by Capgemini in collaboration with a number of subcontractors including American Systems, Business Management International, CSCL, Exalt and Hampton University.
