The Federative Republic of Brazil has placed orders with Harris to provide Falcon III RF-7800V VHF tactical radios.
Under the contract, Harris will provide RF-7800V-HH handheld combat net radios and RF-7800V-V501 50W vehicular amplifier adapter systems.
Brazilian armed forces will use the radios in armoured personnel carriers, tanks, transport and other vehicles, and by dismounted warfighters operating on the ground.
The RF-7800V is the world’s fastest VHF combat net radio system, covering a frequency range from 30MHz to 108MHz and supports data at speeds up to 192Kbps.
The tactical radio provides next-generation voice and high-speed data communications over longer distances as well as enhancing command and control and situational awareness.
