Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a follow-on contract to continue providing advanced training services and solutions to the US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).

The $2.5bn multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base performance period and four one-year option periods.

Under the contract, the company will continue to provide modelling, simulation and training services and solutions to help soldiers prepare for deployment under the operations planning and resource support services II (OPTARSS II) contract.

The company will also provide support services in areas including operational planning, training, modelling and simulation, flight operations, mobilisation plans and execution, deployment operations, force protection and transformation.

FORSCOM trains, mobilises, deploys, sustains, transforms and reconstitutes conventional forces, providing land power to Combatant Commanders worldwide.

SAIC is one of 35 contractors to compete for task orders under the contract.
