Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) has delivered the first MARS II rocket launching system in the guided multiple-launch rocket system (GMLRS) edition to a German artillery school.
The rocket launcher MARS II, along with GMLRS, offers a device that combines highest precision and maximum range in future conflict scenarios within the framework of network-centric warfare.
Artillery school commander Brigadier General Heribert Hupka said the unit will allow completion of the assigned tasks under any condition and with desired effect.
The fully modernised combat system will undergo compliance testing next month at the White Sands Missile Range, US after completion of final tests.
