Lockheed Martin has been awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide upgrade kits for multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) M270 launchers.
The $22.1m award is to meet the requirements of the universal fire control system and also include installation and training.
The M270 MLRS is a type of rocket artillery that is capable of firing surface-to-surface rockets and the US army tactical missile system (ATACMS).
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in the US, with an estimated completion date of 31 August 2012.
The US Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity.
