The RECAP of the Netherlands Patriot fire units will be carried out by the US Government personnel at the Letterkenny Army Depot under the command structure of the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM).

With the upgraded capability, the country will be able to enhance its ability in addressing the current and future enemy threats, thereby bolstering its homeland defence.

The possible sale will also enable the country to deter regional threats, and offer direct support to coalition and security cooperation efforts.

In February this year, the US State Department approved an estimated $3.2bn potential foreign military sale of Patriot Configuration-3+ modernised fire units to Sweden.
