Australian Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne has officially opened defence technology company Lockheed Martin Australia’s new corporate headquarters in the country.

The new site has been named Lockheed Martin Australia House and is located on the edge of Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle.

It is expected to facilitate the company’s corporate and business development functions in the region.

“This building is symbolic of our continued commitment and enduring aspiration to be Australia’s partner of choice for defence, aerospace, sustainment and technology solutions.”

The facility features the latest and advanced Lockheed Martin Endeavour Centre, which is a purpose-built unit that has been specially designed to improve exploration opportunities and support new developments with key partners.

Lockheed Martin International executive vice-president Rick Edwards said: “For more than 70 years, Lockheed Martin has invested in Australia, building long-term capability through our defence, innovation, space and technology programmes.

“This building is symbolic of our continued commitment and enduring aspiration to be Australia’s partner of choice for defence, aerospace, sustainment and technology solutions, as well as a valued and contributing member of the broader Australian community.”
