Engineered solutions provider HDT Global has received a Phase II squad multipurpose equipment transport (SMET) programme contract for its wheeled offload logistics follower (WOLF) robotic system.

The Hunter WOLF system is capable of travelling through narrow trails, steep slopes and dense wilderness. It can carry up to 453kg for more than 72 hours without needing to resupply.

The system supports the infantry mission with improved capability, in addition to allowing soldiers to travel further without tiring them.

HDT Global president and CEO Sean Bond said: “HDT Global is excited that our HDT Hunter WOLF robotic system, the ultimate SMET solution, is advancing to Phase II of the SMET programme. For years, HDT has been a leader in innovative robotic solutions.

“It is designed to easily adapt to mission requirements with several mission-specific kits while reducing life-cycle costs.”

“The HDT Hunter WOLF is an example of our continued research and development dedicated to creating solutions that solve the challenges our warfighters face and to providing proven solutions for extreme environments.”

Hunter WOLF fully complies with the interoperability protocols of the US Army. It features modular architecture with a JP-8 electric hybrid powertrain.
