Elbit Systems updates E-LynX family of software defined radios

The new technologies allow simultaneous sharing of information and conversations in dynamic environments.

Elbit Systems has updated its E-LynX family of software-defined radios (SDR) with the addition of multi-channel and full duplex technologies.

The technologies increase network throughputs of the E-LynX family SDRs and enable the solution for multi-domain digital transformation.

According to the company, the existing tactical radio technologies allow only one single user to access the network at a time.

Elbit Systems noted that its new patented technology allows simultaneous use of multiple radio frequencies for transmission and reception purposes.

This multi-channel network capability feature in the SDRs provides all-time availability of the network.

It also enhances spectrum resource allocation, conduct simultaneous missions, allows tactical users to share information while maintaining secure, rapid and interoperable communications in any territory.

Furthermore, the full-duplex technology speeds up the information flow on the battlefield.

The E-LynX family of SDRs feature open architecture that allows easy addition of updates in the future.

The solution features unique waveforms and allows the adoption of European and Nato waveforms.

Elbit claims that its E-LynX family of SDR is currently the preferred option of many countries for their multi-domain digital transformation.

The countries include Switzerland, Brazil, Israel Sweden and Spain.

The company will deliver more than 10,000 multi-channel full-duplex E-LynX SDR systems as part of several programmes.

In June this year, Elbit Systems Deutschland won a follow-on contract from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for more SDRs.
