Elbit Systems has received a contract for the delivery of E-LynX Software Defined Radio (SDR) solution to the Spanish Army’s combat battalion level.

This move is said to be a part of the Spanish combat radio network modernisation programme.

Earlier this month, Elbit Systems introduced a portable tactical satellite communications (SATCOM) system that will provide the armed forces with on-the-move secure communication capabilities.

The E-LynX-Sat system includes a mobile terminal weighing less than 1kg that interfaces with Elbit Systems’ E-LynX SDR solution to enable communications.

In June last year, German Federal Ministry of Defence (MoD) selected a subsidiary of Elbit Systems to supply the E-LynX soldier radios (PNR 1000) to the German Army.
