Elbit Systems has secured a contract for the supply of radio systems for an undisclosed army in the Asia-Pacific region over a period of 12 months.

As part of the $33m contract, Elbit Systems will be responsible for equipping the artillery and infantry forces of the undisclosed customer with tactical radio systems.

The systems to be equipped include vehicular, man-packed and handheld configurations.

Elbit Systems noted that the advanced networking capabilities of the radio systems enable reliable and secure voice and data communication services over extended ranges.

The customer awarded the contract after it recently decided to equip its army with additional networked combat solutions including E-LynX Software Defined Radios (SDR) and TORCH-X Command and Control systems from Elbit Systems.

Several armed forces worldwide, including those of Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Israel, have selected the company’s radio solutions.

The technologies include electro-optics, electronic warfare, direct infrared countermeasures, software-defined radio, cyber, unmanned systems, command and control.
