Cubic Mission Solutions has selected Elbit Systems of America to provide full-motion video data link (FMVDL) power amplifiers for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft.

The contract award comes after Lockheed Martin selected Cubic Mission Solutions as the software-defined, radio-based VDL provider for the F-35 Lightning II Program in June last year.

The VDL solution features high-performance processing that can support future live video enhancements and reduce size, weight, power and cooling (SWAP-C).
