Safran Landing Systems Customer Directorate executive vice-president Florence Minisclou said: “Since 2018, we have been a committed supporter of this programme by developing and proposing the state-of-the-art design and analysis for the new V-280. We are glad that our efforts resulted in this collaboration.”

Safran has over eight decades of experience in developing landing gear and braking systems.

Furthermore, it has 38 years of experience in the tiltrotor market through the support offered to Bell’s V-22 Osprey.

Once developed, Bell’s V-280 Valor aircraft will replace the US Army’s UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter.

Last March, Bell Textron secured a contract from the US Army for the competitive demonstration and risk reduction work as part of the FLRAA programme.
