BAE Systems has signed a definitive agreement to purchase US-based software company Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim).

The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Established in 2001, BISim focuses on the development of simulation training solutions for defence organisations.

The company, which employs more than 325 people globally, leverages game-based technology to develop high-fidelity and cost-effective training and simulation software products. It also supplies associated simulation components.

BISim is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. It also has offices in the UK, Australia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In a statement, BAE Systems said: “With the successful completion of this acquisition, BAE Systems customers would have access to the company’s extensive and proven system integration experience complemented by BISim’s innovative training products and solutions to enhance military readiness for the US and our allies.”
