BAE Systems has secured a contract from the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) to help improve the situational awareness and mission preparedness of the soldiers deployed worldwide.

The $100m contract will involve the delivery of technical, functional and general support to the US Army’s 116th Military Intelligence Brigade (MIB). The contract is valid for a four-year period.

BAE Systems will be responsible for providing a team of experts who would help the intelligence brigade of soldiers deployed worldwide to better understand regional threats.

BAE Systems intelligence solutions business vice-president and general manager Peder Jungck said: “The demand for intelligence services and support continues to grow as our soldiers remain engaged on multiple fronts.

“The company aims to provide militaries and governments with large-scale systems engineering, integration and sustainment services across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.”

“We are helping to better inform the military decision makers responsible for ensuring the security and effectiveness of global operations.”

Work under the contract is in line with the US Army INSCOM’s mission, which focuses on consolidating, improving and bolstering its intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities as outlined in the service’s 2020 Intelligence strategy document.
