The Government of Argentina has requested a foreign military sale (FMS) of 27 M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicles (ICVs) and associated equipment from the US.

The FMS has been approved by the US State Department and Congress has been notified by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

Under the possible sale, Argentina is also seeking delivery of 27 M2 Flex .50 calibre machine guns, AN/VAS-5 Driver’s Vision Enhancers, AN/VIC-3 Vehicle Intercom Systems, AN/VRC-91E Single Channel Ground, Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS), basic issue items, and components of end items.

Additionally, the sale package includes Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE), M6 Smoke Grenade launchers and associated spares, Outside Continental US (OCONUS) De-processing Service, OCONUS Contractor-provided training, field service representatives, technical manuals, and spare parts.

Stryker ICVs are expected to increase the country’s operational capabilities and force availability to perform disaster relief and international peacekeeping missions.

General Dynamics Land Systems will be the prime contractor on this sale programme.

Separately, the Government of Lithuania has requested FMS of six UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from the US.

Under the $380m possible sale, Lithuania will receive Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) with 14 T700-GE-701D engines, eight AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), 12 M240H machine guns, 15 EAGLE +429 Embedded Global Positioning/Inertial Navigation (EGI) System, eight AN/APX-123A Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponder.

Additionally, the sale will include 15 AN/ARC-231 radios; eight AN/ARC-220 radios; two VRC-100 HF Radio Ground Stations; eight AN/AVR-2B Laser Warning Receiver; 12 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) User Data Module (UDM); eight TALON Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) and eight EBC-406 Emergency Locator Transmitter.

The sale will further include night-vision goggles with other related materials and associated supporting services to increase its capability to provide troop lift, border security, anti-terrorism, search and rescue and other combat missions.

Sikorsky Aircraft Company and General Electric Aircraft Company (GEAC) will be the principal contractors for the programme.
