September 2021 has seen a decrease of 1.69% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 14.1% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 1.66% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 71.56% in September 2021, a 2.46% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.54% in September 2021, marking a 9.32% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.42% in September 2021, a 1.03% rise from August 2021.

Top five auto companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 8.21% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s auto industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Robert Bosch posted 574 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 9.33% over the previous month, followed by AB Volvo with 93 jobs and an 181.82% growth. Daimler with 55 IT jobs and Volkswagen with 51 jobs, recorded a 48.11% drop and a 64.52% rise, respectively, while Continental recorded a 26.67% decline with 44 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s auto industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 41.41% share in September 2021, an 18.03% decrease over August 2021. Sweden featured next with a 10.14% share, up 100% over the previous month. Romania recorded a 7.65% share, a growth of 20.27% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.6%, up by 3.77% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 12.89% share, registered a growth of 2.74% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 11.34% share, down 3.65% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
