September 2021 has seen an increase of 1.35% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 17.83% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 1.08% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.74% in September 2021, a 15.8% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.24% in September 2021, marking a 20.88% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 9.14% in September 2021, a 20.48% drop from August 2021.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 17.1% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Thales posted 219 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 6.01% over the previous month, followed by The Boeing with 119 jobs and a 52.21% drop. Airbus with 105 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 58 jobs, recorded a 20.69% rise and a 24.68% drop, respectively, while General Dynamics recorded an 1133.33% increase with 37 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 29.92% share in September 2021, a 16.28% decrease over August 2021. France featured next with a 24.65% share, down 3.78% over the previous month. Germany recorded an 18.98% share, a growth of 22.32% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.3%, down by 12.62% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.3% share, registered a growth of 5.23% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.27% share, down 37.2% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.14%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
