Barrett Communications is pleased to announce a three-year sole source contract to supply up to 750HF transceivers to one of East Africa’s largest police forces.
Since 1998, Barrett Communications has been working with their local partners, supplying HF communications solutions to the police force, who are actively involved in local policing, election security, border security and anti-terrorism operations.
Barrett has been one of a number of suppliers to the police force in recent years. In recognition of the intuitive use of the Barrett solutions, extensive local technical and training support and the three year warranty; a three year sole source contract has been awarded. The contract includes multiple configurations of the Barrett HFsolutions including a Barrett 2050 HF base station, Barrett 2050 HF mobile stations and Barrett 2090 HF Manpacks with the option to procure Barrett 2020 email, fax and data, GPS tracking and encryption systems.
The general manager of Barrett Communications, Andrew Burt, said: "We work together with our local partners to provide regular training so they are both technically and operationally trained to assist the end user from initial education of HF technology, through to installation, commissioning and on-going support.
"We have long standing relationships with many local partners throughout Africa and we feel this contract award is a result of the significant investment we have made into the African region."
