NorLense AS has been awarded a framework agreement with the Norwegian Armed Forces for the production and supply of high-pressure inflatable air beam tents.
NorLense SWIFT Tent System and GRANDE Tent will be supplied in various sizes and will be used for multiple applications.
The frame contract extends over an initial four-year period, with the option for an additional three years. This is the second time NorLense has been awarded a long-term agreement with the Norwegian Armed Forces.
NorLense’s R&D shelter manager Kurt Johansen said: “NorLense is proud to be selected as a supplier for a NATO country and it is a great acknowledgment for our high-pressure inflatable tents and showing that our shelter products hold a strong position on the market in terms of both quality and price.”
SWIFT Tents are a multipurpose tent system designed to meet the demands of high mobility in a variety of climates. They are designed with high modularity for maximum functionality and adaptability in field-related areas. The tents have been in daily use since 1999 by military and emergency organisations worldwide.
Bright Future for Norlense Shelter Solutions
The contract with the Norwegian Armed Forces is one of several framework agreements that NorLense have been awarded in the last two years. In 2017, a four-year long-term agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme was signed for NorLense to provide rapid deployable emergency base camps. The first camps have already been successfully delivered to UNHRD hubs in Brindisi, Dubai and Panama.
NorLense was also awarded a five-year agreement with the Norwegian Red Cross in 2017 to provide SWIFT Tents that are currently being used as field hospitals in Bangladesh.
