From 16 – 26 April one of the Swedish Armed Forces largest staff exercises takes place at the Swedish Signals Regiment in Enköping. For the first time, SitaWare Headquarters and SitaWare Headquarters WebCOP have been rolled out to all users for planning and situational awareness.
The exercise is training around 800 staff officers from Sweden and 25 from other nations in the management of coalition operations and crisis response.
This has required a huge effort by the Swedish Armed Forces and specialists from Systematic, who have configured the setup with more than 200 different replication contracts and training of all the users through a number of short courses.
After a warm up and rock drill the exercise kicked off this morning at 8am at the four sites throughout Sweden.
The trained audience covers joint, land, navy and air staff, and it has been very interesting to see the maritime component use SitaWare to solve its needs.
Integration to the Swedish constructive training system CATS Tyr has performed extremely well and ensures that the scenario is presented in a very realistic way in SitaWare.
Furthermore air tracks in Link 16 format are received from the ICC simulation engine, Flames, into SitaWare Headquarters WebCOP making sure the Air Picture is available for the trained audience.
