Selex Galileo and Systematic announced today a strategic partnership plan to provide high quality electronic warfare training.

The partnership follows the successful contract win earlier this year where the two companies beat off fierce competition to provide the UK air warfare centre (AWC) with a comprehensive Electronic Warfare (EW) training programme.

Systematic has already successfully delivered a full range of EW training courses for the AWC while Selex Galileo has separately provided training on the EW equipment used by the UK and the systems used to support them.

Integrated training courses will now be developed and provided by joint teams from the two companies and will be delivered at Selex Galileo’s purpose built EW operational support facility in Lincoln providing essential EW education in support of the UK’s EW community based at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire.

"This new EW partnership creates a powerful platform for both companies to provide turn-key Electronic Warfare training solutions to customers on a truly global basis," said Chris Howe MBE, Systematic’s director of EW. "We welcome the opportunity to work with Selex Galileo in the ever growing EW market and all the challenges that it presents for the future"

Ramie Smith, Selex Galileo’s vice president, stated: "This is a game changing approach that breaks down the barriers between theoretical training and the delivery of operational capability."

He continued: "Selex Galileo and Systematic recognised their own individual strengths but, more importantly, quickly realised the true value to the customer if we pooled our resources together in a collaborative manner. The result is a truly world class tailored EW training programme delivered by UK industry to keep our UK service personnel at the forefront of EW technology in the current and future battlespace."
