The Pearson Engineering Bridge Launch Mechanism (BLM) allows Combat Vehicles to lay bridges without permanently changing the vehicle’s role. A bridge may be laid quickly and efficiently in less than two minutes from under armour.

The system is designed to minimise the impact on vehicle mobility and ensures that the bridge and BLM are kept low and close to the vehicle hull when in a stowed position for transport.

During launch and recover of the Bridge, the foot of the BLM retains close contact with the ground, thus reducing the load transfer onto the vehicle and providing launch stability.

There are three versions of the BLM, each optimised for use on either a heavy tracked, medium tracked or medium wheeled vehicle.
The BLM can be fitted using a common interface kit which allows the task equipment to be quickly and easily interchanged and jettisoned, increasing the operational capability and flexibility of the vehicle.
