The Singapore and Malaysian armies have concluded a six-day joint exercise, Semangat Bersatu 2011, aimed at strengthening and increasing interoperability between the two forces.

More than 400 soldiers from the 4th Singapore Infantry Regiment (4 SIR) and the 1st Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (1 RMR) participated in the exercise.

The joint exercise included an urban operation training drill that allowed the troops to hone their tactics to achieve mission objectives.

Semangat Bersatu was first conducted in 1989 and is designed to strengthen professional interaction and enhance mutual understanding between the armies.
