Orbital ATK has secured an order to deliver non-US standard ammunition (NSA) to the US Department of Defense (DoD) in support of unidentified international allies.

The $50m order was awarded by the US Government under indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) and basic ordering agreement (BOA) contracts.

Under the NSA programme, the US army and its allies have received small and medium-calibre ammunition, grenades, mortars, as well as munitions for tanks and aircraft.

Including the current order, Orbital ATK won orders worth more than $200m last year under the NSA programme.

Since the beginning of the NSA programme in 2008, the company has been a major supplier to the US Government.

Orbital ATK functions as the operator of the US Army’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant located in Independence, Missouri, US.
