The TTSARB decision follows the request by the Australian Government for 12 F/A-18F Super Hornets, half a 24-plane order for the RAAF in 2009.
Australia procured 24 F/A-18F Super Hornets in a $6bn deal to replace the aging fleet of F-111 strike aircraft, according to the Australian.
