The US Army has awarded a delivery order modification to Oshkosh Defense to supply over 1,100 trucks and trailers from its family of medium tactical vehicles (FMTV) to the National Guard and Reserve.

Under the $180m-plus contract, Oshkosh will provide three FMTV truck variants and two different trailers.

The FMTV is a series of 17 models ranging from 2.5t to 10t payloads and features 80% parts, resulting in streamlined maintenance, training, sustainment and cost efficiency for the US Army.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Wisconsin with deliveries scheduled to be completed by April 2012.

The contract, awarded by the US Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command, is part of a five-year contract for the production of around 23,000 trucks and trailers, support services and training to 2013.
