The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract to Force Protection to provide two Ocelot vehicles for additional tests as part of the light protected patrol vehicle (LPPV) programme.

Force Protection Europe managing director David Hind said ocelot had been performing well in tests since mid-2009 and demonstrated its unprecedented levels of survivability and manoeuvrability for a vehicle of this size and weight.

Ocelot vehicles feature armoured V-shaped hull and role-specific pods and can undergo a wide range of missions including patrol, fire support and protected logistics.

In addition, ocelot also undergoes operations in desert, jungle, mountainous or urban environments as per the needs of military and internal security forces.
