EADS will upgrade the avionics test equipment of the Lynx helicopter's automatic flying control system (AFCS) with new miniFLITS mk2 test sets, under a contract awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Under the contract, EADS Test & Services will upgrade five final pass-off testing systems of the Lynx Helicopter AFCS with miniFLITS mk2 test sets.
The MiniFLITS is a highly capable, portable test set that enables the MoD to improve maintenance and support turn-around times including platform availability while reducing system repair / replacement incidents and the overall equipment footprint.
The new test set features a remote docking station that provides additional flexibility by allowing different configurations to be easily developed.
MiniFLITS is specifically designed to test the avionics at a range of locations from the frontline to the workshop.
EADS T&S UK general manager Max Baldwin said miniFLITS was a highly capable front line test set, flexible enough to carry out complex testing requirements.
