EADS Delivers Armoured Ambulances to Germany

EADS has delivered 20 armoured Eagle IV ambulances made by Mowag to the German Armed Forces fir the quick and safe transport of ill and wounded soldiers through danger zones.

The armoured ambulance system has been developed for German troops operating in northern Afghanistan and includes space for necessary medical equipment, sufficient space to transport a wounded person lying down as space for a doctor, a rescue assistant or paramedic.

EADS defence electronics CEO Bernd Wenzler said the company was fully able to comply with the Bundeswehr's requirements.

"For their soldiers on operations abroad, the German Armed Forces ordered an armoured ambulance which can fully meet the very demanding requirements for deployment in crisis regions," he said.
