Singapore’s ST Engineering will provide specialised equipment and related services for the demilitarisation of ammunition to an undisclosed African country under a €30.13m ($41.9m) contract.

Ammunition demilitarisation involves destroying the ammunition capabilities through a series of processes including disassembly, size reduction, melt-out of explosives and incineration of non-recyclable explosives.

Work will be carried out by the company’s land systems arm, ST Kinetics, and deliveries are expected to be complete within the first half of 2012.

Singapore Technologies Kinetics is the land systems and specialty vehicles arm of ST Engineering.
