The Colombian Army will receive 39 armoured security vehicles (ASVs) from Textron Marine and Land Systems under a foreign military sale by the US.

Under a $45.6m contract, the company will deliver ASVs equipped with cupola mounted weapons stations along with associated logistics support services.

Textron’s ASV M1117 is a 4×4 all-wheel drive armoured convoy protection platform designed to protect the soldiers and other security personnel from ballistic threats.

The vehicle can provide unparalleled all-round survivability against small arms fire, rocket-propelled grenades (RPG), overhead artillery fragmentations, and under-wheel and under-hull mine blasts.
