The US Army has awarded an $86m contract to ATK to supply lightweight (LW) 30mm M789 high-explosive dual-purpose (HEDP) tactical ammunitions for the AH-64D Apache attack helicopter.
Production is planned to begin in December 2009 at the company’s facilities in Elk River, Radford, and Rocket Center.
