The US Army has received specified support from the software company Citrix Systems, which has delivered more than 1,500 of its satellite bandwidth optimisation systems.

The company has delivered the WANScaler units to General Dynamics as part of its contract to support the army’s warfighter information network-tactical (WIN-T) programme.

The WANScaler technology supports the optimisation of satellite bandwidth for the army’s advanced communications network WIN-T.

Citrix Federal area vice president Tom Simmons said that the solution enables the army to provide its forward-deployed soldiers with real-time applications and information through their current tactical networks.
