US House Rejects Iraq Funding

16 May 2008

The US House of Representatives has rejected legislation that would have funded the war in Iraq for another year.

According to Reuters, the House rejected a measure that would have given the Pentagon US$162.5bn to keep the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan running until next summer.

The Senate is expected to debate its version of a war-funding bill next week, and is likely to reinstate the money.
